How to Combat the “Sunday Scaries”

Sundays are very ritualistic for me, I like to sleep in and rest, but also to be productive and do things that ensure I’m ready for the week. We all know what it’s like to feel the short weekend coming to a halt and feel the impending doom of responsibility knocking on our doors. However, it doesn’t have to be so bad after all!

These are my Top 5 Strategies to set yourself up for a successful week ahead!

Laundry, Fresh Sheets & a Clean House

These are ESSENTIAL Sunday habits for me. My dog sleeps in my bed because she’s a total princess, so the sheets being changed weekly is a non-negotiable in this household! I also tend to recycle my top 5 favourite Lululemon outfits, and god forbid I can’t have my favourite buttery leggings embracing my butt all week. Lastly, all jokes aside, I truly believe that having everything clean and organized for a new week will help you to clear your mind and to focus on tasks that matter in the week to come!

Meal Prep for the week

Working with me as a nutritionist is something I totally swear by! I am my healthiest and most consistent when I am prepared with healthy, fulfilling, and nutritional meals throughout the week. I suggest grocery shopping on Friday though, that way you’re not overwhelmed by this list of Sunday tasks and can still relax!

Make a to-do List

This seems simple, but it helps relieve the anxiety of the week ahead when you map out the things you need to do. It helps to organize your thoughts, strategize a plan, and release the cyclical stress loop of worrying about the laundry list of things you know you need to accomplish

Go for a walk or get a workout in

This is essential for clearing your mind, energizing you for the week ahead and ensuring that you have restful Sunday sleeps. The fresh air will also help to relieve anxiety and relax you on this blissful Sunday! Bring your dog, catch up with a friend or listen to some good music to decompress

“Best of the week” Bubble bath Ritual

This is by far my favourite Sunday ritual. It’s intense I won’t lie- there are Epsom salts and bubble bars, bath bombs, candles, and sultry music. This is my exfoliation bath of the week and I do not mess around on this one. It cleanses me physically and spiritually! 10/10 would recommend!

Follow these tips to splash the Sunday Scaries away and have an awesome week ahead!
